Refund policy
Last updated
The seller is Mark Delos Santos, trading as Bright Labs. You can get a full refund within 14 days of any payment, for any reason. You do not need to explain why.
This policy explains what that promise covers, how to ask, how the money reaches you, and what happens to your license key afterwards. It forms part of our terms of service.
1. Who handles your payment
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders, which means Paddle is the company that sold you the product, took your payment and issued your receipt. Refunds are processed by Paddle.com, so the money always comes back to you from Paddle, not from us.
Paddle publishes its own buyer terms at https://www.paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms and its own refund policy at https://www.paddle.com/legal/refund-policy. Those apply to the sale as well. Where our promise on this page gives you more than they do, you get our promise: if you ask us within 14 days, we will have the payment refunded.
2. The 14-day promise
The 14 days run from the date of the payment shown on your Paddle receipt. The promise applies to any payment: your first payment for a plan, and each later renewal of a subscription. A renewal gets its own 14 days, counted from the date of that renewal.
You do not need a reason, and we will not ask you to show that anything went wrong. You also do not need to have used the product, or to have stopped using it, before you ask.
The free versions of our products cost nothing, so there is nothing to refund. A service that is sold and paid for somewhere else, such as a done-for-you upgrade bought on Fiverr, is not a payment made through this site. The refund rules of that marketplace apply to it, not this policy.
3. After 14 days
After 14 days, payments are not refunded, unless the law where you live gives you more rights. Those rights always apply.
Some countries give consumers a separate right to withdraw from a purchase, or rights when a product is faulty. Nothing in this policy takes those rights away, and you can ask us or Paddle about them at any time.
4. How to ask for a refund
- Email hello@brightlabs.app with your order number (it is in your Paddle receipt), or
- Contact Paddle.com directly at paddle.net, where you can look up your order.
If you email us and cannot find your order number, send the email address you used at checkout and the date of the payment, and we will look for it with you. Either route is fine, and you do not need to try one before the other. We pass requests we receive on to Paddle, which issues the refund.
5. How the money comes back
Refunds are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, and go back to the payment method you used. Your bank may take a few days to show it. If it has not appeared after that, your Paddle receipt and paddle.net have the details your bank will need to trace it.
6. What happens to your license key
A full refund ends the subscription's license. That key cannot be renewed or restored afterwards. The paid features turn off at the product's next renewal check, and no later than the key's end date, about three days after the billing period you paid for. If you want the paid plan again later, you can buy it again and you will get a new key.
Nothing else is taken away. The free version of the product keeps working, and neither PHPReady nor FlakeRadar deletes your data because a license ended. A partial refund does not end the license.
7. Refunds and cancelling are separate
A refund pays back a payment that already happened. Cancelling stops the payments that have not happened yet. A refund does not by itself cancel a subscription, so if you do not want to be charged again, cancel as well, or say so in your refund email and we will cancel it for you.
You can cancel any time at paddle.net, or by emailing hello@brightlabs.app. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you keep the paid features until then. Cancelling on its own does not refund the current period. If that payment is less than 14 days old, you can ask for it to be refunded as well.
8. Chargebacks
If you do not recognise a charge or something went wrong, please write to us or to Paddle first, because a refund is usually the quickest way to get your money back. You are always free to speak to your bank. If a payment is charged back, the license for that subscription ends in the same way as after a full refund.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy or about a refund: hello@brightlabs.app. For anything about a charge or a receipt, you can also reach Paddle.com at paddle.net.
